Please read through all these instructions carefully.
The Alert Software is connected to our server using a program called QuantKey.
QuantKey runs in your System Tray and only allows one live connection at a time.
To install on your second computer:
First you will need to “disconnect” QuantKey on the 1st computer.
Down in the right-hand corner of your screen (by the clock) is the System Tray. Click the little ^ carrot to see the programs running in your System Tray and mouse over them until you see the “QuantKey Connector”. Then then Right-Click on that icon and choose Settings.
You will see this dialog box with your Login Codes we originally emailed you for the 1st install.
Just click “cancel” to close that dialog box. Now you know how the QuantKey Connector works.
Before you install on the 2nd computer, you must right click the Quantkey Connector in your system tray and click “disconnect”. Just go back to your System Tray, mouse over the QuantKey Connector, right-click and choose “Disconnect”.
Now you are ready to install the Alert Software on the 2nd computer.
Simply install the Alert Software on the 2nd computer the exact same way you did on the first one.
You will need to re-enter your username and password – If you can’t find the original Download email we sent you just email info@investingsystems and we will send you your login codes again.
Using the Alert Software on 2 computers:
You will need to manage the “connect” and “disconnect” with the QuantKey in the system tray so that only 1 computer is connected at a time.
It’s easy to manage and not a big deal – but due to the nature of the live data connection between our server and the Alert Software, only one computer can be connected at a time. Our back-end system was created so that each user gets allocated 1 live real-time connection to our server. So you can still use the Alert Software on 2 machines, just not at the same time.
To summarize: On 1 computer you will have QuantKey “connected” and on the other computer you will need to have it “disconnected”. When you change which one you are working with just switch those options.
NOTE: The center of the QuantKey icon will be red when it’s disconnected – and black or green when it’s connected.
If you have issues with QuantKey connecting on a computer that you aren’t using frequently, you can prevent it from automatically starting up on that computer. This image shows how to manage QuantKey “on startup” in Windows 10.
